Working one-on-one allows me to address your specific issues more effectively. Like in group classes, we explore how Feldenkrais can rewire your brain, musculoskeletal system, and nervous system to reduce pain and enhance your breathing, posture, and movement.
In the first session (and periodically thereafter), we’ll discuss the issues that brought you to Feldenkrais, identifying the affected function—for example, shoulder pain might limit reaching, or hip pain might impact walking. I’ll guide you through simple movements to assess how these difficulties manifest, helping me tailor lessons to your needs.
During lessons, you’ll adopt various positions and perform specific movements while I observe. My goal is to increase your awareness of habitual patterns and help you discover easier, more comfortable ways to move. Learning happens at a somatic level, with frequent rests to solidify new neural pathways. While the slow, small movements can be surprisingly tiring, the process is typically deeply relaxing.
