Learn how to replace pain and discomfort with ease and pleasure

It is somatic education – learning at the level of the ‘soma’, the body. The more aware we are of what we do, how we move and how we hold ourselves, the more freedom of movement we find. Through paying close attention to what exactly is going on when we move, we open up new neural pathways in the brain. Neuroplasticity, the science that explains why this works, didn’t exist when Moshe Feldenkrais, who pioneered this method of somatic education, was around.

We have all developed unconscious habits in how we move and hold ourselves, some of which are less than ideal. Trauma lies at the heart of these unhelpful patterns of posture and movement – both physical injuries and our natural responses to situations that we experience as threatening or distressing. Trapped trauma and anxiety holding patterns contribute to hypermobility, poor sleep, compromised breathing, and chronic pain.

What is Feldenkrais and how does it help?

Group yoga class session

These sessions are called functional integration lessons because we learn how to use the whole of ourselves, like we did as babies.
The advantage of working with you on your own is that I can address your issues much more specifically.
